Air Fryer Steak
Equipment
- Air fryer
Ingredients
- 2 steaks
- 2 tablespoon butter
- ½ tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer at 400 °F for 3 minutes.
- While the air fryer is preheating, mix the butter, chopped parsley, minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.2 tablespoon butter, ½ tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, ½ teaspoon minced garlic, ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper then place them in the air fryer basket. Ensure there's enough room between them for the hot air to circulate. If the steaks are too big, do them one at a time instead of stacking.2 steaks, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- Cook at 400 °F for 6 minutes.
- After 6 minutes, open the fry basket and flip and rotate the steaks. This will allow the steaks to cook evenly.
- Replace the fry basket and cook for another 6 minutes. If you prefer them well done, cook for 8 minutes instead.
- Remove the fry basket and let the steaks sit for roughly 6 minutes. Again, this will help to promote even cooking.
- Add the garlic butter sauce and spread it out with a spoon. Enjoy!

FAQ
It really depends on the thickness of your steak, but a good rule of thumb is to cook it for around 12 minutes. If you like your steak rare, you'll want to cook it for around 8 minutes.
If you prefer it more well-done, cook it for 14-16 minutes. You can always check the internal temperature of the steak with a meat thermometer to make sure it's cooked to your liking.
We recommend cooking steak in an air fryer at 200°C/400°F for best results. You should use this temperature regardless of if you want your steak rare, medium or well-done. Just vary the cooking times for the level of doneness you want.
You can put oil on your steak before cooking it in the air fryer, but it's not necessary. If you do choose to oil your steak, we recommend using a light olive oil or vegetable oil just before seasoning with salt and pepper.
For foods like steak, we recommend flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. We also recommend using tongs so you don't accidentally pierce the meat and release the juices.
Air fried steak can taste just as good as steak that's been cooked on the grill or in a pan. The key is to get a good sear on the outside of the steak so that it's nice and juicy on the inside.

Is this an American recipe? Haven't worked using Fahrenheit for years, all my kitchen equipment uses Centrigrade.

Hi Heather, I am in the process of adding both °F and °C temperature settings for all the recipes on this site, as people do request both in the instructions.
